Photography Conference Schedule

Kick-Off Party | 7:00 pm | Friday, October 4th

This year’s conference will begin with a blast at our Kick-Off Party on Friday evening that all conference attendees are invited to attend! This will be everyone’s chance to put a face to the names of the lovely people we’ve connected with in our private Conference Facebook Group.

Light appetizers and yummy cupcakes can be nibbled on while we interact and have a great time together. Be ready to wear out your dancing shoes on the dance floor, have some crazy silly fun in the photo booth and make connections with new lifelong friends from the I Heart Faces Community! Wear your pretty party clothes too…rumor has it that the attendee who displays the most I Heart Faces spirit in their outfit that night might win an awesome prize! :)

Please Note: A cash bar will be available throughout the evening for those who would like to purchase drinks.

All-Day Conference | Saturday

Saturday’s conference will begin bright and early with a breakfast buffet for all conference attendees. During this time you will also be able to shop with Arlington Camera, watch demonstrations and interact with conference sponsors (great prizes will be awarded throughout the day from our sponsors.)

Classes from the Beginner, Intermediate and Professional tracks will be offered for anyone to attend (with a minimum of four classes per hour to choose from.) This will allow each attendee to customize their class schedule to their photography needs. Classes will range from large group to small group to instructional to hands-on. We know that these classes will leave you inspired and ready to continue on your own photography journey with everything you have learned. Be watching for class descriptions soon!

A delicious lunch and light snack will also be provided throughout the day. Attendees who choose to stay at Cherry Valley Lodge will also be able to easily walk back to their room throughout the day as needed. For additional nutritional needs, there is a snack bar, restaurant and bar located throughout the premises.

Our day will conclude with an inspiring message from our Keynote Speaker, Tamara Lackey. Tamara is a portrait photographer whose work has been described as “expressive, soulful, funny, beautiful” and has appeared in a multitude of publications, from O Magazine to Men’s Journal and Parenting Magazine. Her imagery has also been showcased on ABC’s The Martha Stewart Show, ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, CNN’s Anderson, and NBC’s The Today Show. We can’t wait to meet her in person and listen to her inspiring talk!

Photo Walk | 1:00-3:00 pm | Sunday, October 6th

After our busy Saturday, you can take the opportunity to sleep in on Sunday. We’ll then all come together in the Cherry Valley Lodge courtyard one last time for a fun, casual Photo Walk hosted by Angie & Amy (co-founders of I Heart Faces.) This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with each other one last time and also to take beautiful images of all the other lovely ladies in the group (can we say “new profile photos?!” Yay!)

There will also be opportunities for photographing small, set-up outdoor photography sessions during the Photo Walk on Sunday afternoon. We hope that you’ll join us there!

Conference Add-Ons

We have planned several amazing activities that our conference attendees can take part in if they choose to. Please note that each of these activities is an additional charge and is not included in the conference fee.

Photography Tour to Amish Country – $150
Join Amy Locurto (co-founder of I Heart Faces) on an all-day tour to Ohio’s gorgeous Amish Country on Friday, October 4th. This professionally guided tour includes all transportation, tips, and a traditional lunch in an Amish home. Stops will include a scenic overlook that shows off the beauty of this simple lifestyle, watching an Amish craftsperson at their work, and shopping in a quaint, local Amish town. Ohio’s fall color in October is absolutely spectacular and will add even more to this photographic tour. We hope that you’ll be able to join Amy for this day of fun!

Small Group Photography Workshops
We are so excited that five of our extremely talented speakers offered to design small group, intensive photography workshops that will enable our attendees to soak up even more information from these teachers on Friday and Sunday before our official conference begins. These workshops are completely separate from the I Heart Faces conference, but we did work with these photographers to provide classroom space right at Cherry Valley Lodge so that our attendees would not have to travel to attend any of these add-on workshops.

SUNDAY:

1| Wedding Photography Bootcamp with Jean Smith Photography (8 am – 12 pm)

Portfolio Reviews
Throughout the weekend the I Heart Faces Creative Team will be available for Portfolio Reviews with conference attendees only. Pricing and details will be announced to attendees via our private Conference Facebook Group so make sure that you join this group to stay up-to-date! (All attendees will receive instructions on how to join this group when they complete their conference registration.)

Who should attend this fun weekend?

Women with the love of photography and at any level are encouraged to join us. We’ll meet to discuss how we can dream big by growing both professionally and personally through our creativity and enjoying our hobby to it’s fullest. Beginners will learning how to use their cameras and take better photos. Advanced photographers will be inspired to take their photography or business to the next level.

You’ll leave with useful knowledge to apply to your business, learn more about your camera and taking good photos, be moved to tears by inspirational speakers, walk away feeling more confident, meet new contacts and friends for life.
